RISING STAR ADAM HOLMES TO PLAY GLASGOW AMERICANA FESTIVAL
Adam, whose debut album, “Heirs And Graces” is nominated for Scottish Album of the Year this year, plays The Glad Cafe on Saturday, October 4.
The 23-year-old from Edinburgh is winning many admirers with his cultured mix of traditional and contemporary folk music from both sides of the Atlantic, gently eased on to his own brand of Americana.
He was a finalist in the 2009 Celtic Connections Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition, nominated as Best Newcomer at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2011 and was further nominated for Best Up and Coming Artist at the 2013 Scots Trad Music Awards.
“Adam is a really talented artiste getting a lot of attention so he’s an exciting addition to our bill,” said Kevin Morris, director of the Glasgow Americana Festival.
“Edinburgh’s Adam Holmes and The Embers….. the epitome of sweet sorrow in his Americana-hued songcraft…” – Sue Wilson, The Scotsman, reviewing the 2014 Shetland Folk Festival.
