MARY GAUTHIER – FIRST ACT ANNOUNCED FOR GLASGOW AMERICANA FESTIVAL 2014
The hugely popular and gloriously talented singer/songwriter headlined the first ever Festival back in 2007.
A new album, “Trouble and Love”, due for release in June of this year, features songs of transformation, moving from being one way to another way, internally.
She’s been a welcome visitor to Scotland with her challenging and critically-acclaimed catalogue of music from six studio albums since composing her first song at the age of 35.
For this show, Mary will be supported by Ben Glover who won many admirers during his performance at Glasgow Americana last year at the Gram Parsons’ tribute night.
“Mary Gauthier is just great to listen to with her rock-tinged songs that veer from the moving to the amusing,” said Festival director, Kevin Morris. “We are so pleased she can grace the Festival once again.”
“With a voice like a grazed hawk, she sings bluesy Southern Gothic tales…Whatever you are doing I guarantee you’ll stop and listen to every word.” 4 Star, MOJO
Glasgow Americana will take place at various venues across the city from the 1st to 5th October, more acts to be announced in due course. Please keep an eye on our website for future updates: www.glasgowamericana.com
